My Village - Summer Camps 2019
Summer Sampler – June 3-7, July 15-19, August 5-9 (Each week will have different activities)
Children will enjoy a sampler of the best classes that My Village has to offer during this week of summer camp. They will be engaged in music, STEAM, robotics, art, fitness, LEGO and K’Nex engineering, woodworking, pottery and ceramics and others. These classes will keep their minds and bodies active while allowing their creative talents to flow! This camp is offered three times throughout the summer.
Sun & Summer Fun! June 10-14
This week of camp your child will participate in all things related to the sun and summer. There will be scientific experiments with solar energy, temperature and water. Your child will participate in water and water balloon games and a variety of fun and interesting pool noodle activities. They will sing along to summer songs and will have the opportunity to create their own. Children will use our makerspace to plan and create exciting projects. There will also be opportunities to create artwork that is sure to shine!
Animal Antics! – June 17-21
Do you have an animal lover? This week of camp is made for them! A veterinarian is scheduled to visit and answer all your child’s animal questions, along with presenting information about dog bit safety, grooming pets and pet training. Then children will create and participate in their own “Veterinarian’s Office” with job roles, customers and of course their (stuffed animal) pets. Children will study animal types in fun and exciting ways. They will have experiences in music, art, drama, LEGO building and physical activities, all relating to animals. We will end the week with a visit from the Hobe Sound Nature
Center and real-life animals native to Florida!
Marvelous Music! – June 24-28
Your child will be completely immersed in music during this week of summer camp at My Village! They will study musicians and styles of music. Your child will learn how to read music, play various instruments and will have the opportunity to compose their own pieces. They will make instruments in our makerspace, respond artistically to music they hear and play musical games. The week will end in a musical performance in front of family and friends. This camp is one you won’t want your child musician to miss!
This Land is Our Land! -July 1-3 (3-day camp)
This camp is offered for three days during the week of the Fourth of July. Children will actively participate in a variety of activities that teach them about our country. The patriotic activities include artwork, music, experiments, STEAM, robotics, woodworking, drama, wiffleball and others. What better way to spend the three days before our country’s birthday than learning about all things American!
Wonderful, Amazing Me! -July 8-12
During this week of camp, students will be engaged in exercises and activities to teach them about their bodies, how they work and how to take care of them. We’ll be learning about nutrition and experimenting with foods and recipes. There will be experiments and STEAM activities to teach children how their bodies function. They will learn and practice forms of exercise to make their bodies strong, such as interval training, yoga and others. They will also learn different forms of meditating they can use in the future to take care of their mind as well as their body.
Naturally Disastrous! -July 22-26
What child isn’t fascinated by natural disasters? This week of camp, children will spend time learning, building and conducting experiments pertaining to natural disasters. They’ll become reporters on the scene of a disaster, they’ll learn about hurricane preparedness, they’ll create buildings strong enough to withstand a natural disaster, plus many other engaging and physical activities. This fun, hands-on week is sure to be an exciting camp for any child.
All About Camping! August 5-9
Who doesn’t love camping?! This week of summer camp, children will learn and practice survival skills, conduct experiments relating to camping topics, engineer a compass, learn map reading skills, learn about constellations, use instruments to play and sing along with camping songs, perform skits and hang out in tents plus so much more!
