Variety Class: Ages: 5-7 
Oceanography
Using clay, create the ocean floor. Label and learn about the continental shelf, the continental slope, trenches, underwater volcanic islands, seamounts, abyssal plains and mid ocean ridges. Teacher will demonstrate how tsunami’s are formed, explore the ocean layers, currents, waves and tides. Look at a fresh sample of sea water under a microscope to see if there is microscopic life present.

Variety Class:  Ages: 5-7  Practicing Reading and Writing in Comic Con 
Comic Con!!!  Come dressed as a superhero and be the author and illustrator of your own comic book that you can share with the class. Teacher will read aloud comics, students will have a design contest for the best costume, scariest villain, sidekick, and super pet.
Students will practice their logical reasoning skills and participate in a
superhero debate team. Students will join a debate team and find logical
arguments to support which superhero would be best suited for certain jobs.
Create a Venn-Diagram showing similarities and differences between 2
superheros. Discuss the physics of superhero’s actions. We will have superhero group games and art projects. This day is going to be SUPER!

In this class, we take a detailed look at food. How much sugar is too much sugar? What are the benefits of Himalayan salt? What plants have the greatest amount of calcium, protein, magnesium? How is cocoa powder different than raw cacao powder? Where does nutritional yeast come from? What are calories, carbs, vitamins, pesticides, artificial coloring, antioxidants? Who is the USDA and what are the requirements for a food to be considered organic? What effect does dairy have on the human body? No food will be served during this class, but students will sort groceries and try to guess which foods have the most nutrition.
